Sandile Tshabalala is currently a second year student at the University of Cape Town, where he is studying law. He graduated from Uplands College in 2011 and recently received a bursary for the rest of his university education from Bowman Gilfillan, a top South African law firm.

 

During his time at Uplands, he was an active and well-known member of the community. He joined the KLM program in January 2007. In addition to his commitment to his coursework, he was involved in a host of extracurricular activities. Uplands recognized his dedication by honoring him with an award for participation in community service. Sandile also received an academic award for achieving the highest mark in Zulu during grade 9 year.

 

Sandile ultimately wants to make a difference in the lives of others. He aspires to be Secretary General of the United Nations or a minister in the South African government. Sandile plans to continue to take advantage of the opportunities at the University of Cape Town to interact with people from different backgrounds and further develop his leadership skills.
